One of the most rare and sought after barley shochu in Japan, Hyakunen no Kodoku means “One Hundred Years of Solitude” and is named for the famous novel. It is made from a mash of 100% barley, grown locally on the distillery’s own organic farm, white koji to keep the flavor smooth, distilled at normal pressure to preserve oils, then aged undiluted in oak casks for three to five years to help it develop structure and fullness.
"Hundred years of loneliness". A famous sake of barley shochu that has been aged for a long time. The storage method is to store in white oak barrels like Western liquor. By blending three types of undiluted sake, three-year aging, four-year aging, and five-year aging, the taste is given depth and breadth.
The elegant and powerful scent is as deep as a forest. There is also a woody aroma derived from barrels and a fragrant aroma of wheat. With hot water splitting, you can enjoy a richer and more voluminous taste with various complex flavors.
